All the advantages of a new installation, but at a fraction of the cost

With budgets under severe pressure, the full capital cost of replacing older cranes may be harder than ever to justify. Even getting parts and service support can be difficult as component manufacturers phase out older designs. A refurbishment and upgrade could be a viable alternative, providing many advantages of a new installation but at a fraction of the cost.

A refurbishment should not only bring the crane back to its original level of performance and reliability, but could actually improve productivity by using faster, more efficient components.

Logistex have extensive experience of delivering refurbishments and upgrades into live environments, and can undertake part or full refurbishments to a range of crane systems, including manual cranes, automated cranes, and mini-load crane systems. We will project manage and plan the works around your operation to minimise disruption to your business.

Logistex upgraded the Automated Storage & Retrieval System, originally installed by a different supplier, at Wincanton GSK’s Distribution Centre at Brockworth. As part of the upgrade, Logistex replaced legacy and control technology, operator screens, motors and drive components with software and equipment based on latest generation technologies. The project has delivered a number of improvements to the warehouse including more flexibility, reduced energy costs, and faster, more responsive and safer maintenance and repair. Wincanton’s Contract General Manager said; “The new system has not only enhanced the centre’s efficiency but is also providing a platform for continual improvement of the working environment for employees.”
