The Logistics Awards, which recognise operational excellence and celebrate the very best companies within the logistics and supply chain sectors, will take place on Thursday 21st September at Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London.
Pharmacy2U has been shortlisted as a finalist in the New Facility category for its revolutionary automated pharmaceutical dispensing and warehouse system developed with Logistex. The project integrates a range of technologies, including automated twin headed dispensing robots (provided by BD Rowa), pick to light, conveyor and an automated packaging solution. Logistex Warehouse Management System LWS Reflex provides full operational management and movement control.
The creation of the UK’s first centralised pharmacy is a ground-breaking moment in the re-engineering of pharmacy medicine supply in the UK. Utilising technology that Pharmacy2U helped create, and meeting the Government’s pharmacy commitment to increase efficiency, Pharmacy2U and Logistex have built a facility capable of delivering high volume prescription orders direct to patients at a lower cost than the traditional high street model and ensuring the highest level of clinical accuracy.
The new facility is already enhancing efficiencies and capabilities both now and for future growth, increasing the capacity to 10 times that of the company’s previous system and improving accuracy rates to an industry leading 99.98%.
