DDC Racing Compete in Race of Remembrance for Help for Heroes

45 teams. 1,000km course. 1 cause.

This week the 2016 Mission Motorsport Race of Remembrance returns to the Anglesey circuit for a third year to commemorate the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families. There will be a unique interruption to the endurance motorsport event at 10.45 on Saturday morning when the track will fall silent as the race pauses to hold a service of Remembrance.

DDC Racing, made up of Daniel Collett, Clive Brookson and David Drinkwater, are just one of the teams competing in the unique endurance race for the ‘Heroes Trophy.’ The team have worked incredibly hard to get themselves and their cars ready for the race and they are now raring to go!

The team are trying to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes. Help for Heroes provides funding for Mission Motorsport, whose mission is:

To aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through Motorsport.

Mission Motosport is run by veterans, serving officers and motorsport professionals. It provides respite, rehabilitation, vocational support and training to those affected by military operations within the framework of Motorsport.

Let’s all show our support for DDC Racing and for Help for Heroes by donating via the JustGiving page:

The team will be providing updates on the JustGiving page over the weekend so you can keep track of their progress. Also keep an eye on their Twitter feed and Facebook page so you can see where they are, what they are doing and, more importantly, by how much they are winning…. As Daniel says; “no one goes racing to finish second do they?!?”

Logistex to do their thing for BBC Children in Need

On Friday 18th November, employees at Logistex will be swapping their sandwiches in favour of a feast of global cuisine as they hold an ‘Around the world’ themed lunch to fundraise for BBC Children in Need’s 2016 Appeal.  Money raised will go on to support disadvantaged children and young people all across the UK.

Employees will be getting to work in the kitchen to cook up some cultural themed dishes to donate to the lunch which everyone will be able to dig into for a small entry fee. There will also be a raffle with some prizes up for grabs. It should certainly make for a fun day in the office!

BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to put on events supporting the Appeal.
